College Girl Series: Makeup Essentials

Credit: Pinti1
I am a college girl myself, and I know how tricky it can be to juggle classes, a job, and a social life. That being said, a few makeup essentials will certainly help to minimize your time to get ready, so you can focus more on having fun, rather than spending an hour or so on everyday makeup.

Makeup Essentials

Foundation: Think of this as your key to great looking skin. The perfect foundation will even out skin tones, add color to your face and smooth it all out. You can layer it on for full coverage or add one coat for a sheer finish. Bonus points if the foundation has spf for sun protection!

Powder: A great product for touch-ups during the day or night. I use powder to set my foundation for a long lasting finish.

Neutral Eyeshadow Palette: Consider a palette that has basic colors such as beiges, browns, grays and mauves. I love Urban Decay’s Naked Palette because it complements every eye color and you can wear it for school, work, or a night out,

Concealer: Perfect for blemishes, dark circles or discoloration, concealer is a must have in your makeup bag. There are different formulas, such as creams and liquids, so pick the best consistency for your skin type.

Mascara: Find a mascara that is natural looking and will be easy to remove when you wash your face. I like to have two mascaras, one for daytime that adds length and definition, and one for night time which is bold and voluminous.

Lipgloss/Lipstick/Lip Balm: Any of these three products can achieve a perfect pout. Pick the best type for your personality or mix and match. I currently love Revlon Lip Butters!

Blush/Bronzer: Add warmth or a glow to your skin by purchasing these two products. Depending on your skin tone, you can choose a pink, coral, orange, mauve, or rose shade for a perfect flush to your skin.

Makeup Brushes: If you don’t like to get your hands dirty while applying makeup, opt for some brushes. You can pick up foundation brushes as well as eye brushes at your local drugstore. My essentials are a face brush, blush brush and eyeshadow brushes.

And finally….snag a super cute makeup bag to store all of your essentials for easy traveling to and from school, work, home, etc!
